I was offered a job flying right seat in a Challenger 300 series. My flight time is 3600 tt and 1550 multi the chief pilot said the job is mine if the insurance accepts me. Up to now NO answer, but I have hope. The Capt is 60 and I think it may be an issue; plus the fact I only have 90 hrs, turbo prop total turbine. Based on experience and facts; what do you all think the insurance Co's answer will be?

Hard to say. Having no jet time may be an issue, ditto for no type ratings, but it seems there is a certain amount of fuzzy logic that goes into the equation that insurance companies use to calculate experience. I have never heard hard quotes on experience to write a policy, though I have seen how flight crew experience affects the rate. It might be that they end up with a number between your experience and someone elses, and it comes down to do they like you enough to spend the additional money.

I guess the bottom line is if the Chief Pilot want's me as his F/O then it's a matter of money. What keept me wondering was the fact that it's a new plane and all, But Thanks for the info.

Do you really want to clean Bill's $hitter! ;) :)

With school it should never be a problem given your TT and ME time. It is just a matter of ensuring that the insurance company understands the insuree's point of view. (ie start shopping if they f with you)
