Marcus,
My pm box is not working for some reason so forgive the post for being posted here versus being sent as a reply.
As for the "direct ties", those who are instructing in this program will be (are) granted the interview at ExpressJet once they hit a reduced minimum flight time which may or may not have been changed since I was there. I would personally take a trip to San Jac and meet with the head of the program there and see what you can do. Depending on the present day need you may be able to get a position as a CFI then move over to ExpressJet once you reach a certain total time reqt. They hire a good majority of cfi's that complete this program and from within but they have been known to hire those from the outside so it is worth a shot in my opinion. Most of the CFI's that I knew back in 97', 98' have all moved on so I can't be of much help in getting you in contact with any "current" day instructors there.
Cliff's is the only flight school that is tied in with ExpressJet and San Jac. . . Karen James is a CFI at Fletcher (HOU), her husband was a check airman on the 1900 prior to moving on to mainline so try and touch base with her, I am 99% sure that he flowed back to ExpressJet and he knows the "right" people.
Don't just "send" a resume, personally hand deliver one since it is much more "personable" and it will allow the employer to put a face with a name and you will probably get the desired result by going about it this way. Speal to Larry or Maybelle at Fletcher, surely you cannot miss them..

(Just look for the oldest people in the building)
Fletcher did seem to have quite a bit of movement so you should ateast get the interview out of it then you must take it from there.
I think MVP is out of Westheimer(sp?) although I do not recall for sure.
Let me know if it works out for you...
