If anyone knows of any instructor jobs in HOU PM me and let me know.

PM sent

Go and speak to those tied in with the Continental Express program at San Jac. 5 or so years ago they would take many due to those leaving for the line. I think Wilhoitte is still heading the hiring up there and is a very nice guy. I have been out of the loop for quite some time now but pretty sure not many things have changed since then......

Tell him Dresser will never be replaced nor forgotten.;)

Fletcher (HOU) also seemed to hire frequently based on need as well as MVP Aero..

One of these three should work out for you.

good luck to you,

pm me if need be and I will try and pass some information on if you have no luck trying to get in contact with the right people.

CFI work in HOU

Just a word of advice, stay away from Clover Field (now known as "Pearland Regional") Only two schools there...won't say any names, but maintenance sucks. Also, lots of drama between the airport mgr. and one of the schools. Both used to be great places to fly, but the dollar signs blinded the owners, and well, we know what happens then.

I think 350 is right. Try Cliff Hyde over at Ellington Field, or Fletcher at Hobby.

Don't believe me...pm for more detailed info.

Good luck to you.

Marcus,

My pm box is not working for some reason so forgive the post for being posted here versus being sent as a reply.

As for the "direct ties", those who are instructing in this program will be (are) granted the interview at ExpressJet once they hit a reduced minimum flight time which may or may not have been changed since I was there. I would personally take a trip to San Jac and meet with the head of the program there and see what you can do. Depending on the present day need you may be able to get a position as a CFI then move over to ExpressJet once you reach a certain total time reqt. They hire a good majority of cfi's that complete this program and from within but they have been known to hire those from the outside so it is worth a shot in my opinion. Most of the CFI's that I knew back in 97', 98' have all moved on so I can't be of much help in getting you in contact with any "current" day instructors there.

Cliff's is the only flight school that is tied in with ExpressJet and San Jac. . . Karen James is a CFI at Fletcher (HOU), her husband was a check airman on the 1900 prior to moving on to mainline so try and touch base with her, I am 99% sure that he flowed back to ExpressJet and he knows the "right" people.

Don't just "send" a resume, personally hand deliver one since it is much more "personable" and it will allow the employer to put a face with a name and you will probably get the desired result by going about it this way. Speal to Larry or Maybelle at Fletcher, surely you cannot miss them..:D (Just look for the oldest people in the building)

Fletcher did seem to have quite a bit of movement so you should ateast get the interview out of it then you must take it from there.

I think MVP is out of Westheimer(sp?) although I do not recall for sure.

Let me know if it works out for you...
