If you have a bible as well as a few prayer cards onboard it does the trick as well, plus you don't have to notify anyone or "worry"..

Lot less work on the pilots behalf..

Tune your NDB reciever, or any convenient radio on board, to the last three digits of the VOR you want to intercept then just fly the needle on the ADF.
