Recently I began to have some sleep issues. My family doc gave me Ambien and this would help somewhat on the occasion that I would use it. However, within a couple of months, the insomnia became unmanageable (it got BAD BAD BAD) and, at the risk of losing my job, I had to ground myself and seek treatment.

I am currently working with a clinical sleep psychologist doing both Cognative Behavior Therapy and Sleep Restriction Therapy. I am optimistic that he can restore my normal sleep patterns (no medication). Provided this works, what will I be up against when I am ready to renew my medical and fly again?
