I was shooting the breeze today with my captain and told him I was going to do my first motorcycle track day.

He said that some major airlines make you sign something that says you would abstain from risky activities such as that. Any truth to that?

Figured they don't care what you do on your own time.

One of the main reasons to fly jets and make these HUGE salaries is so we can do inherently dangerously things. Just the other day, with my new HUGE paycheck, I went to the local supermarket and strip mall dumpster, found some great wood scraps and built an AWESOME go cart.

Now, if I could only find a hill......

Oh....and for many isn't getting married like 5 TIMES an inherently risky thing?

If it flies, floats or ....well you know.

RV, what, can't sell enough wine these days? ;)

As long as what you are doing with your free time is legal, it's none of your bosses business.

You might want to check your life insurance policy though.

BS Alert..

Never heard of that in 15 years, four airlines and from the friends in the industry...

Your medical insurance on the other hand would LOVE it if they could make you sign something like that!

LOL, that was what I was figuring ... five marriages...I think that is def dangerous:)

The Navy limits what activities you can do. If you get hurt doing one of the forbiden activities you will be found "outside the line of duty" and not get any coverage.

What a bunch of Hooey!!!!

I would bet there's zero truth to it, but I have had some uncomfortable moments during interviews explaining my level of involvement with motorcycles since it's in my work history. Just to be on the safe side I'd wait till off probation before advertising your budding road racing habit :)

Riding a motorcycle along with skiing and other inherently dangerous sports. Some don't even allow basketball.
fruit cake, gas is almost on it's way to 4.00 bucks a gallon...driving a motorcycle isn't going to be a "sports" anymore, it's going to be how a lot of people can afford to drive to work.

fruit cake?

What makes me a "fruit cake"?

Go read up on the activities professional athletes are prohibited from engaging in during the offseason.

And since when was riding a motorcycle a "sports" as you call it.

FN FAL attempts to come off as a funny/wacky guy with his comments. And as far as his knowledge on law, go look up pettifogger.

Go clean your guns dude and stop trying to babble with poorly chosen esoteric and incoherent language.

You'd think you would have been thankful to be associated with a quaint and thoughtful Christmas gift.
