Does anyone have any info on Ryan Re:

Schedule?

Pay?

Domiciles?

Hiring trends?

Training contracts?

Travel to and from domicile?

Schedules are 7 on/7 off.

Pay is around $42K/yr for FOs.

Domiciles vary, but since they do primarily seasonal flying, they put you up in your domicile. Ususally the winter domiciles are something like ORD, DTW, MKE, FNT...and the flying is out and backs to resort destinations in the Caribbean and Mexico for vacation tour operators.

Hiring Trends? Hire in the fall for the winter season, furlough in the spring...usually. There has been no hiring for the past couple of seasons, since there were pilots still on furlough. Just depends how the various contracts are going.

Not sure about training contracts.

Travel to and from your domicile is up to you.

This all assumes you are asking about the passenger system.
The freight side is a whole different animal, and I know little about that.

I know nothing about Ryan, but am also interested because I understand they are hiring people with airbus time, which I have. Being a furloughed UAL pilot, now working for a regional, is this company a step up from where im at now???? Thanks in advance!
 
They are currently hiring for the Airbus. They have just filled the B757 classes but could do some more hiring into September for this airplane and also the B737. There is no training contract there is training pay which is about $1500.00 every two weeks. Most of the pilots hired for the 75 have Etops experience and came from UAL. As someone previously mentioned domiciles are all over the U.S. and all out and backs. Unless you fly the B737 out of Atlantic City then its good per diem on alot of overnights. And like the previous thread the freight side is another animal in itself.
Also, for delivery100, I know that a couple of guys that are furloughed UAL airbus guys drove down to Wichita and got hired on the spot with their airbus time. Hope this helps.

Nobody getting hired now is going to get ACY on the 737. Not anytime soon. This is a year-round contract staffed by relatively senior pilots.

One other thing that I feel is worth mentioning. I don't see anyone who is hired now seeing an upgrade anytime in the forseeable future. There are pilots who have been at Ryan for years waiting for upgrade who are just now getting that opportunity. It would take many additonal contracts/aircraft for anyone hired today to see the left seat. While I know for furloughed pilots, this is most likely a better alternative than continued furlough, it is most definitely a right seat only position.

Does Ryan have any plans to increase their A320 service with AirTran?

I've also heard that Ryan might be taking delivery of more A320's for the upcoming season. Any truth to this? If so, how many more?

I've got a friend with 320 time who's trying to get on at Ryan and he's hearing conflicting stories on these issues. Any info would be appreciated.

I used to be with Ryan, but am now at AirTran, so I can't really comment on Ryan's future plans. As far as the AirTran contract goes, there is the possibility of one or two more aircraft, but the closer we get to the delivery dates of our 737s (June 2004, or earlier), then the less likely that would be.

I can say that historically, the number of aircraft that Ryan operates fluctates wildly, depending upon many factors. Traditionally, these numbers go up for the winter season, due to the fact that the aircraft they operate belong to European charter airlines and winter is their off season, but then that number goes down by this same amount in the summer, as these operators take their aircraft back.
