i was on tortola a week ago. the FLY BVI islander was in a hangar and all dented up around the nose, etc.

a fueler said it had ditched but didn't have any more info - anyone know ? thanks

(one pilot guessed that there was water in the fuel lines, but he made have been joking; someone once told me a cessna crashed because of air in the fuel lines, after it ran out of gas. Get it? and you can have about a gallon of water in the tanks before the engine will quit- i've once drained about 12 of those little strainers that were full of water)

Since when is there fuel on Tortola? Fly BVI always tankered fuel from SJU in their Aztecs . . . . fly off the inboards, then get to Tortola, drain what was left in the inboards into 55 gallon drums, then fly back to SJU on the outboards . . .

Who is running that operation- is it still Barry and Nikki?

is nikki too cute or what?

i don't know who's running it, but they have an office in the new terminal.

the new runway should be finished soon

i haven't seen nikki for a year and a half

How long is the new runway?

What a beautiful area to work in, but working 6 days a week watching the beautiful people sail off, while making very little money and washing my uniforms in the sink wasn't my idea of suitable employment.

Guess I'll just have to save my cash and visit later as one of those happy tourists . . . . .

PS, the Nikki I am talking about wasn;t very attractive, but I guess she might look better on the island.

nikki was a 22 year old west indian cutie, she seemed to be a receptionist. reminded me of halle berry

i'd guess the runway is about 200 yards longer - they may be trying for direct flights from europe.

there's a new funky surf palace type resort right near the new terminal, where the hobie rentals used to be.

i've got a good schedule- fly 3-4 days a week and sit at my outstation for ten hours on those days.

Defnitely a different Nikki!

If the job they offered me was more like your job, I probably would've taken it. Sounds great.
