Please do a google search on when the rule changed in 2007. It took over a year for the rule to change. In a cliff notes form:
1. Sept. 2006 -FAA formed an ARC (Aviation Rulemaking Committee) to recommend adopting ICAO standard on retirement.
2. Nov. 2006 -ARC reports finding to FAA
3. Jan. 2007 -FAA proposes rule change
4. Jan. 2007 to Dec 2007 - Multiple bills proposed and sponsored by multiple Senators and Representatives presented and debated before Congress to increase age to 65. (Supported by ALPA National....yet most pilots were against the change)
5. Dec 10. 2007 -The final legislation, H.R. 4343: Fair Treatment for Experienced Pilots Act was introduced.
6. Dec 11, 2007 -H.R. 4343 is passed by both the House and Senate with all, yes that is all, members approving the measure. Not one single vote against the bill. One of the most by-partisan bills in US history. They then promptly went on Holiday break.
7. Dec 12, 2007 -President Bush signs bill into law....yaaaaaaaah!
It literally took over a year for the rule to change in non-election years once they got serious about changing the rule. I would highly doubt a CP saying it will be so November has a clue......about anything if he spewing that kinds of nonsense. I would not trust them ever again. You wanna know why there is no info on 67? There is no info!
