Flying the other day talking with an above "60" Captain, and mentioned that I would hope to be "off" reserve soon with future attriton, and he said some guys fresh from class had the system CP mention its coming (67) in November, not to keep beating a dead horse, any new info on this proposed change?

Because two more years will make the difference for these guys.

Not saying that it will never happen but there is no way in he!! it would happen by November.

Counting down the days until 12/12/12!

Please do a google search on when the rule changed in 2007. It took over a year for the rule to change. In a cliff notes form:

1. Sept. 2006 -FAA formed an ARC (Aviation Rulemaking Committee) to recommend adopting ICAO standard on retirement.

2. Nov. 2006 -ARC reports finding to FAA

3. Jan. 2007 -FAA proposes rule change

4. Jan. 2007 to Dec 2007 - Multiple bills proposed and sponsored by multiple Senators and Representatives presented and debated before Congress to increase age to 65. (Supported by ALPA National....yet most pilots were against the change)

5. Dec 10. 2007 -The final legislation, H.R. 4343: Fair Treatment for Experienced Pilots Act was introduced.

6. Dec 11, 2007 -H.R. 4343 is passed by both the House and Senate with all, yes that is all, members approving the measure. Not one single vote against the bill. One of the most by-partisan bills in US history. They then promptly went on Holiday break.

7. Dec 12, 2007 -President Bush signs bill into law....yaaaaaaaah!

It literally took over a year for the rule to change in non-election years once they got serious about changing the rule. I would highly doubt a CP saying it will be so November has a clue......about anything if he spewing that kinds of nonsense. I would not trust them ever again. You wanna know why there is no info on 67? There is no info!

Bluefin,

You make this same age 67 post every week or two. You get the same answers very time.

If you don't want to beat a dead horse, why do you keep posting this BS?

Its not BS. It will happen in the next few years. If ICAO has raised it to 67 and guys are flying over the states past 65 seems like the natural progression for the FAA is to follow along. Nothing I can do about it except enjoy the view from 410.

cause it's always changing from yes to no to yes to no to yes to
No to yes, just want some insight, what others have heard, just say'n.

I had two high level feds on my jumpseats the other day, both on the same leg. One said the age change was ready to go in December, and the other said he's heard nothing. Seriously. I wouldn't make this ******************** up.
