"Even" CHQ? I think we've been insulted...

Don't take it out of context old pal....it's a copy of an old post I made when some poor Mesa bastard was trying to defend what they did and it just so happened to be right in the midst of everyone giving you guys he!! for signing your TA.

My point was that even though "those" guys weren't happy with "your" pay rates -- they were still above industry average.

Sorry if it came off another way.

Could somebody tell me what would have happened if Mesa pilots decided to push the issue for significantly higher wages and work rules. It's my understanding that they were between a rock and a hard place with the anti-christ AKA JO launching Freedumb to counteract the Mesa pilots push for higher wages.

8628y,

I would disregard the negative posts. Guys like mckpickle are just bitter cause they probably are not going anywhere in the industry with regards to moving on. I personally have to laugh at him when I read his posts (I would suggest you do the same), I would assume he is just a old salt that got overlooked by maybee Air Tan or a AWA at some point and is stuck "still" .

As for the interview, aviationinterviews.com is right on. Study the ATP written, wx especially, aircraft systems, etc, etc, ... If you get Scotty then you have it made.:D

I'm going to answer that question with a question

Do you think Mesaba's strike would be an effective tool for bargaining (raising the bar) if Mesaba management started another non-union carrier that could continue to fly for NWA minimizing the economic impact of a work stoppage?

How about if Mesaba pilots showed up for work while in mediation and were told to go home because this Non-union spinoff carrier was covering the line...

Mesa pilots diddn't screw anyone.... It was the Freedumb pilots... and JO's politics....

It's hard to say....

One possibility is that with a much larger pilot group they will have the leverage and power to make a stand... Also after the freedumb mishap before, I doubt that anyone will sink SOOO low that they would join that mess. I would also like to think that ALPA would prohibit such a tactic again after seeing the fallout of last time...

Another BIG factor is whether JO will still be around.... Some seriously doubt it...

I'd think the next Mesa contract will be a good one, but again, much of this also has to do with how Mesaba, Coex, etc make out on their contracts... If they make out well in the new economy it will TRUELY raise the bar...
