Poolies, I remember someone asking about first class medicals for training at SWA. I just got off the phone with JB at the training center and she said that your FIRST class medical must be valid on the first class day only. It may revert to a second during training.

Good to know information. I'll be pushing it pretty close on that issue(Due in March), and not wanting the you know what so soon.
 
You can revert to a 2nd class after day one of training but you still need a First class medical every year by the contract even though the FAA only requires a 2nd class for FOs. This is not explained in class. Your 1st class med can then revert to a 2nd class each year. Several people I have talked to did not know this and had to have another physical after they submitted their brand new 2nd class physicals to training schedulling.
