I did a search and read a few testimonials of certain ANR headsets, but I am wondering if there is something worthy within the $400-$600 range.

One of my passengers killed my old DC H10-30s today. Actually, good riddens, as it did absolutely no good wearing those in the Islander (or as I call it, the blender set on frappe). I had to use an old pair of Peltors throughout the day, and now I have a splitting headache!

Any thoughts? TIA

Love my Lightspeeds. Have had to return them a couple of times due to various things, but the company repaired them after the warranty had expired.

I can't complain for the price... 15XLs for $350-400... I forget what exactly I paid for them.

I'm not the biggest Telex fan---don't really like their lower end headsets. But I took the plunge and bought the Telex Stratus 50-D noise-cancelling set (the purple and grey ones).

I'm pretty happy with them--pretty comfortable, a bit on the bulky side (kind of like Lightspeeds), but the ear seals and headband are very cushy, and very comfortable to wear.

The cool thing about them is that it comes with an adaptor so that you can run it off of your a/c's electrical system, otherwise the batteries last me about 20 hrs or so (that's in a 310/402).

I guess if I had a knock about them, I would say that they are a tad bit heavy, but that's just me.

i've had my telex ANR 150s for like 4 years now, never had a problem and the ANR is pretty nice. i think they are only $275 on marvgolden.com

Lightspeed twenty 3g

nice comfortable , good battery life good anr ( cell phone attachment even though I do not use it)

20xl2 also good

Look at Lightspeed's website www.anrheadsets.com they often sell refurbished models at pretty good prices.

Some people on this board have commented favorably on the Lightspeed ANR Cross-Country, which is under $300.

Yes I have read some reviews on the ANR cross country and it was a decent headset apparently, even if you dont consider the cheap price. Most thought at the price, it was a bargain.

I've had em in my pilot avionics for about two years. They work great. Battery last 20-25 hrs. The new soft com {forget model #}
takes power right from the intercom so theres no outside power.

I have the DC 13.4 with the anr conversion. They work great but I have had to send them in 2 times for service. Service is great with quick turn around. Have them install it, comes with extended warranty and saves them from fixing your mess.

I installed the anr modules in an old DC 10-20 headset. I bought them from the manufacturer since at that time (~2 yrs ago) they offered the auto-shutoff battery pack cheaper than the dealers. The anr modules work well, although I really haven't compared them with DC, Peltor, LightSpeed or others.

The battery case holds a 9v, which lasts about 10-15 hrs. I tape a 6AA battery holder (Radio Shack, etc) to the battery case. This battery setup lasts 5X longer.

If you're handy with small tools and soldering, or have a friend who will do it for a Guinness, it's a cheaper way to have anr.

Well, it's done. I got my Lightspeed Twenty 3Gs today via FedEx overnight today. It was really interesting flying with them the first time, not being able to hear the engines as I normally do. But after 4 flights, I noticed the clarity of the transmissions and I was almost put to sleep having nothing to listen to. Oh let's see, crank up the ADF to the local AM station. WOW! I never thought it would be so crisp.

Well, I bought the ANR kit from ANR Headsets for my old Flightcom 4DLX. I never have had ANR so I hope it is as good as everyone is saying. On the manufacturer's web site, alot of people say the kit is better than the Bose X. I hope so cause $250 is better than $1,000 for a poor starving CFI. Thanks for replies.

I have used the Bose X headsets and hated them. I would never pay 1grand for a headset that doesnt even work as good as the lightspeed. Also whats good about the lightspeeds, you can have them for 3-4 years and the will still send parts for free to fix them. like i said you can go wrong with
