This is probably not what you want to hear. When Conseco got rid of its flight department at the end of last year there were 12 pilots on the street looking for work. I only know of 3 that have found full time work. Only one of those is in Indy and that was at ATA. I was one that took a job some where else so I have been away from Indy since the first of the year and don't have all of the latest job info. However, from what I hear, there are no corporate jobs in the area.
Good Luck, I wish I could give you better news.
I think Guidant just hired a GIV co-pilot. I applied but I'm airline and they probably turned up their nose at that. Also, they wanted 5,000 hours of PIC. What else do you want? A shuttle landing?
I think corporate has always been thin in IND. A friend used to be a chief pilot at Indiana Electric and joined the airlines when they shut down the company.
Yeah again sorry for the news but I've been looking for a flying job in the Indy area for 3 years now - there ain't nuthin'. ATA is hiring a handful here and there but nothing major. Chautauqua is hiring if you can handle regional FO pay for while.
I'll second that... Conseco closed their doors, Guidant just hired one (I think...), Inland Paperboard and Packaging is moving out of town, Melvin Simon and Associates isn't hiring (that I've heard of...).... etc...etc... Aviation Charter Services does some hiring every once in a while, ATA Execujet had a position open for about a week and filled it, the list goes on and on. Pretty much a whole bunch of nothing going on in the area. Seems like the only thing you hear of about Eli Lilly is after the fact, if you hear that they're hiring it's already too late. Good luck!
