Incredulous Briefings

Gave a FA the standard yadda, yadda, yadda, nice to meet me, more yadda yadda yadda finishing with is there anything you'd like to add? She asks me if we will be flying over the Great Lakes on the trip? Yes, Toronto was on the pairing. Then she briefs the FO and I that if we make a water landing, to please unlatch the cockpit door so she can exit with us out the cockpit windows. Then she says she's watched many aviation movies, and asks us if she's watched too many. Are sychronized answer, yes. It was the oddest briefing in 5 years I've ever encountered.

I saw part of some silly made-for-TV movie a few weeks ago about some airliner that was hit by a gov't missle. Most ridiculous thing I ever saw in terms of the reactions of the crew and all I kept thinking was "that's not what really happens.."
