A bud of mine in mx at CHQ told me a shuttle E170 had its horizontal stab clipped pretty bad while taxiing by a northwest A320. Apparently this happened last friday. Anyone hear anything?

Apparently it was an Air Canada aircraft that struck the Shuttle America 170. The 170 had to have it's horizontal stab replaced. There was a press release/NY article, but I'm too lazy to link it.

a line guy broke off a static wick by accident the other day when he walked by. Should I call the NY Times?

Yeah, but at least they're not like LOT, Alitalia, and all those who fly them as "Express" divisions...unlike our Canadian carriers here.

Sheese...

Does anyone know more about the birdstrike in Davenport, Iowa last fall?

I don't get what you are trying to say.

My point was that Air Canada got the E170(175s) to stay at the mainline level, and as such, their salaries and opporunities are better. As opposed to US carriers, where all E170s have so far been put at the regional level, with a starting pay in the low 20k range, and this also takes away more opportunities at the mainline level.

Partly correct. Air Canada flies the 175 and 190's. Air Canada Jazz flies the CRJ900's.

come on, This thread is too nice.

I'll start.

F!@# YOU for calling my airplane a regional plane. Surely you know that this is a MAINLINE plane and since I fly it, IM MAINLINE so YOU BETTA RECOGNIZE YOU UGLY BOZO DA CLOWN (sarcasm intended)

plane is fixed! maybe they should write a story on that too
