Yes, I remember it well. I am not certain, but I believe as a result of this accident the FAA raised the assumed average pax weight.
 
Think about them everytime we fly into Charlotte and see that big hangar they crashed into. Very sad.

very sad that an unqualified, lazy a$$ mofo mechanic was allowed to rig the elevator with a gust lock.....

very sad that AMW training did not teach to bank and unload the wings in a severe nose up attitude......
