I just spent about an hour writing a private message to someone that took a lot of thought and effort. When I hit send, as usual the log in page pops up, I logged in at the very top expecting my message to go through (as usual) but it never did. It dissappeared. It's not listed in the "sent items" of my User CP. !*&@#!*&@!*!

That has happened to me quite a bit lately. Guess you could copy what you write before you hit send incase that happens again.

But it's not gonna save it to my hard drive unless I do some kind of un conventional mess. I emailed the "contact us" at the very bottom of the page to complain. Maybe something can be done.

yeah, that's happened to me, not with PM's but with long posts. It's frustrating. The only thing I can say is if something takes a fair amount to time, write it in word, then copy it onto the post/PM page to send. any forum software out there has this ability to do this to you, it's not just flightinfo.

Naaa...just highlight the text, copy to clipboard, and you're set. If the message doesn't go where you want, just paste it and send it again. I do this all the time with longer emails, etc... just to be safe.

Thanks. I'm not suffering through that again. Wait a second, what clipboard. I'm obviously new to all this and didn't work with computers enough in college or something.

When you get the log-in page after trying to post a message just log in. After you are logged in, hit the "Back" button until you get back to your message then hit "Submit Reply" again.

It's worked for me in the past when I've had the trouble described in the original post.

When I have to write a message with a program that has done that to me in the past, I usually type it up in Microsoft Word or something so that doesn't happen. You could also copy and paste the message to Word before trying to send to help protect it. The trick is remembering to do this stuff before that happens.

The funny thing is, I just got done resending a PM I sent to a user. I got timed out at the send point but it stayed in my sent items. So 3 weeks later I decided to resend it again, copying it from my sent items. Sent the email, come to the forums, and there is an email about this specific issue!

For some reason, I can copy from another post to insert a quote, but I can't copy my own post before I post it. I don't know why, but either the computer, or the site won't let me.

Using Word might be unneccessary. Use Notepad, which is located under Programs> Accessories> on most Windows start menus.

If you are doing a really long post, you can save in case you have a connection problem or laptop battery outage. Then just copy/paste into flightinfo. Notepad is much quicker loading and works just fine.

When you right click, you only get the "paste" option. Next time try highlighting what you want to copy and go to your explorer bar and click on "Edit" from the drop down menu click "Copy" and you should be able to copy what you have in the post window.
