Has anyone worked for IFTA in Bakersfield, CA? They called me back to interview for a Flight Instructor position. Any thoughts on the school, working there, living in Bakersfield, etc...

living in Bakersfield

The betting pool for the zero-zero Tule fog has the first appearance on November 1st at sunrise.

The hot cars show every Friday night at the Sonic on Olive Drive south of the field. Buck Owens usually sings Friday and Saturday night at the Crystal Palace. The Bakersfield Condors hockey team is pretty decent, a little rough but that's the way it's played. Famoso and Mesa Marin Speedways offers racing action.

The town is starting to show the LA influence with large shopping centers, near-gridlock traffic jams, and hazy summer days. It's still a small town in some places with fruit orchards, goats, and carrots next to housing developments. Housing is still reasonable there, build a place and sell it in a year at twice what you paid for it.

If you're looking to get away for a weekend, Inland and now Lloyds have aircraft for rent (Kern Charter @ L45). Driving or flying, head north (history), east (mountains), west (beach), or south (city and/or mountains).

Enjoy! BFL is a small town becoming big.

Fly SAFE!
