Hopefully, the idiot didn't log the actual in his log book without an instructor signing beside him...secondly - yeah! Not smart. I recall my first time flying single pilot IFR and the plane iced up. I asked for an immediate vector back to my home airport...a C-172 is so not the place for that b.s. And I called myself a CFI at that time...what a goof I was! Even if the wx didn't call for icing that day!
