It IS Indeed IFL... as former pilot there, I do keep in touch with a few friends. They have 4 of FORDs old Pax 580s...141,161,171 and 181FL along with a few superstretch 5800s, a couple 208s and a few 72s that they lease from KFC up in Kelowna. Aircraft are also stationed in IWA, MFE and I believe Pt. Elizabeth or something like that. I just talked to a friend that is still with them( retired USAir) and he confirmed that they are infact purchasing DA20sand already have one that is being converted.

As for working there... the owner is quite ecentric but a very good guy all-in-all. They do run some 121 as well as 135, but the bulk of the work is done on 125. Duty days can be long....16hrs and flying 125 you can fly up to 16hrs as well. Pay isnt that bad really and medical benefits were really nice when I was there. I am only speaking from when I was there, but the whole pilot group was fantastic although quite a few of us have moved on. I would have to say that flying the CVs were some of the best times Ive had and I really do miss them a lot!

If anyone needs some info, I will be more than happy to find out for ya...just PM me and ill try to help.

IFL Fleet

At Pontiac they have numerous Covairs, 2 727-200's, and a couple Caravans.

As for the Falcons those are in the process of being purchased by Royal Air on the North side of the field.

Hmmmm..... ok

It may be Royal Scare is looking for Falcons too, but so is IFL. They are going to pick three of them up out of Ohio, don't recall which company (Grand Air?). They have the fans on them, so it'll be more economical than the straight jets. At least that eccentric old bag running the place (AR) thought about that before he decided to acquire them.

Actually, the company from OH that IFL is getting them from owes IFL money and can't repay, so they are giving them the 20s in exchange, so goes the rumor. Straight from one of the company pilots.

Isnt it just like Mr Ross to get them like that! How ya been Clap?

Actually no DA-20 was ever equiped with a straight jet. There are basically two types of engines, the General Electric CF-700-2D (and 2D2's) and the Garrett TFE-731's both are turbo fans. The Garretts are much more powerful however, giving the Falcon the ability to go from say... Detroit to Mexico City non-stop. They make the DA-20 a pretty impressive old bird!

Okay, I'll buy it. I don't know sh!t about Falcons, nor about their engines. I know these ones IFL will be getting will have the Garretts on them.

Smokin' Joe told me that they were getting the ones with the range to do the Mex- Detroit hops non- stop.
