I'm suprised nobody has posted anything about "The Right Stuff" on here- another one I really like, if you care to pass it off as old.

As far as "Strategic Air Command" goes, a great flick. I would have loved to have seen a B-36 fly. Apparently, up until a few years ago, some guy was trying to rebuild one, but it ended up getting nixed by the Air Force, who put a stop to that really quick. The airplane is now displayed at Pima.

Another favorite movie clip of all times. The rest of the movie totally stinks, but this is one of my favorite clips with surround sound. Bear with the slow start, but gets really cool in about a minute or so. It was directed by Steven Spielburg, who is now working on another P-51 movie called "Red Tails".......

Ceiling Zero

I guess nobody brought this one up...James Cagney and the airmail about 1936. Good, for the period, shots of ice building up behind the boots before he spins in. Guess that the ATR folks should have watched this one.
Also 4 course radio range flying and going below minimums. Everybody talking a mile a minute. The actors must have been paid by the word. <grin>

This one's better...starring a real pilot (cliff robertson) in real aiplanes (30 series DC-8's) dealing with real issues (A boozer pilot and nosy lead FA)
Technically accurate with great footage of a classic airplane, right down to where he pulls the cap off the aileron trim wheel to look at the porn inside, which any DC-8 driver knows it's stashed in there.

Very technically accurate, I have the film on VHS. Talked to cliff many times about the movie, he was disappointed it was considered a flop.
