Just flew with IRO that had the FLU and didnt want to call in sick! 2006 hired w/ 120 hrs sick time...

2007 hired... 25hrs sick time

1. Trade the IRO... Then call in sick!
2. 87+ hrs credit... Go back to express!

I am on 5th year and bid Reserve... My newhiire classmate 12yr's at express makes +2k more a month then me with 15days off vs my 12 days off!

CAL SUCKS

Yeah QOL over at XJT is just wonderful these days my buds say. Nothing like getting your pass travel agreement torn up over night. Hey let's shrink IAH 25%+ in one bid. Makes ya' wonder what Uncle Jerry will do with that whipsaw when he gets a chance for a real crack. Rather listen to Sarah Palin 24/7 then your moaning rants.

But he hasn't even started yet about the quality of his crew meals! (They really HAVE been going downhill...)

If you have any clue about life, and what can happy to your health, then you need to carry 240 hours in sick bank; for the 90 day transition to LTD. Or, if you want to do as you say, and just go with out pay for 3 months; sure go a head, carry 40.

You know SWA, DL, US, look to be hiring in near future.

These are the guys that waste sick time then when they need it for something long term they expect the rest of the group to donate vacation days for them.

I hear what you are saying. I really get tired of guys showing up in our little incubator hacking and sneezing for 3 days. If you are sick call in. Some of these guys that will not call in cost the company more money. They get their crewmembers sick and they pass off a jet that has little green boogers hidden for the next guy. So instead of one sick call you can have 3 or more. I agree that sick call needs to be stored for that dreaded "sickness", but if you are contagious...stay home.

Yep... I saved up 3 months of cash to cover the 240hrs/3months!!!

If we had a real contract we would not have to do that and the company would be paying our LTD!

But go ahead and fly your 120hr lines and don't call in sick because of the 240hrs or the drop down to 87hrs.... You are saving the company!

I call in sick when sick and only sick! I don't care about the drop in pay or 240hrs... I care about my health and my fellow crew member's health.

Bidding of the 757 for the 737 type....

Really? A 5th year reserve on the 756 makes $7530/month. For a 12 yr XJT CA to make $9530/mo at $84.54/hr (preconcessionary rate, not sure if it snapped back) he has to credit 112.73 hrs a month, or 7+03 pay for every one of 16 work days to get 15 days off in a 31 day month. We had good work rules at Express, but not that good! Care to send any more BS our way?

Also, while I agree with you 100% that sick pilots need to call out and not contaminate the rest of us regardless of pay implications, exactly what should they trade their DH IRO trip for? Have you seen open time lately?

This all sucks, but whats more of a cancer to a pilot group is the pukes that chronically pick up open time.
