Okay smart guy....................do you piss away the entire $2.9 billion before you admit your business model sucks or do you suck it up and do it sooner?

BTW the only people that can call me 'chief' do not include you.

Really guys.....what would happen to SKYW if United goes belly up??? I am very concerned about this because I just got hired by SKYW.
Also....what are the chances of United going belly up????
I know it's all opinions but what does everyone hink

If UAL did shutdown, they at first could pick up many of the shorthaul routes in RJ's, and possibly acquire the parked UAL planes for larger and longer capacity flights - does this scenario make sense?

Lets stay on topic please.:)

if ual or dal goes under it's going to flood the market with pilots and the "GROWTH" that was suppossed to happen will not...

Management at SkyWest has addressed this for the past 2 years. Their plan is that should any of our major partners go out of business then SkyWest is in such good financial position that we could easily be competetive to be a regional feed for other major partners. SkyWest's newest contract with Continental airlines is part of management's plan to diversify risk. They have openly said they would like to obtain contracts with more airlines -- Northwest Airlines comes to mind. They always have the option of starting up a low cost carrier a la Independence Air. A LCC is a final option though it seems they would prefer to stay in the regional feed business. Or perhaps though could continue expanding our regional contracts with other major partners and also start up a LCC. They've always said were they to do that then they would use larger aircraft, not RJs.

Don't get me wrong, but all this talk makes me glad we're not attached to a ship that every day, is more likely to sink.

I think this summer will determine what happens to the "big ship", I believe if it makes it through then things just might start going up hill again - sure hope so!:)
