And too many pilots forgo safety for political reasons by not calling fatigued/sick when they are and fly broken airplanes when they shouldn't which actually is most dangerous to safety culture.

The problem with the incompetent pilot is...he doesn't know he's incompetent. Calling it a political (brown nose) reason is being kind.
