IAD Information

As of August 1, our new domicile is IAD. Can someone tell me where exactly the employee security check-in point is located? Apparently there is a seperate security screening place for employees.

Right now it is near the passenger security entrance on the east side of the terminal. Behind the dropoff doors marked number 3. Between the Cinnabon and the shoe shine guy(great shine by the way). They are doing a lot of changing around there, so it could change.

I second the shoe shine guy - he is by far the best in the airport. He is there six days a week and gives us a great shine for like $5 bucks. There are others inside security but that guy is definitely the best (I forget his name but it is mexican or spanish - just ask someone who is based there they will know).

Crew Security Check Point

I haven't been out of IAD for about a year but the crew check is hidden West of Cinnabon. They sometimes let a lot of PAX go through too but it's usually a quick shot. There's also a "secret" door that goes towards the T Gates which you can only use if you have a SIDA badge and aren't carrying anything through. I think they don't allow crews to have SIDA badges though... Find an intern and you're golden!
