Does anyone know of a hotel near IAD that gives crews a good rate and provides transportation?

Yeah there is one right there on the field. Otherwise everything else is out in the boonies. I think its a marriot.

Marriott (on field) is going to be expensive.

There's the Dulles Holiday Inn, Hampton and Marriott Town Suites that are right there on Route 28 (Sully Road). They have free transport (you can take either the Holiday or Hampton busses and they will drop you at the other hotel. Dirty little secret - all three properties are owned by the same management company!)
Still may be pricey but you will probably get the best rate out of the Hampton - tell them you are crew when reserving.

The cheapest hotel (I believe) is the Leesburg Holiday Inn which also has a bus but its a good twenty minute ride each way to the airport.

On that Route 28, there are a bunch of hotels: Homewood Suites, Microtel, etc. I don't know if they run busses or not!

What's a good rate?

Just stayed at the Hilton for $120/nt, prob not what you're looking for.

In Chantilly, (15-20 mins) I've stayed at Hampton for $80/nt, not great but better than the hilton.

Rice

Crashpad!!!

Should have asked that first. Everything in Real Estate in Washington DC area is expensive.

If you are ACA or can get to an ACA pilot (concourse B) ask them for some of the crash pad listings off the bulletin boards either at the crew room or at the Training facility in Dulles.

This ain't Cincinnati where you can find a $35 crew rate hotel.
