I'll be busy celebrating EVERYTHING being a union member for 16 years has done to... er, that is, for me!

THANKS ALPA! TC

Yeah, I find it ironic that the first Labor Day I've had off in ten years is due to my position on the Negotiating Committee, where I've spent the last nine months trying to preserve the shreds of what was once a decent contract from a brutally incompetent management.

Oh, well, its a beautiful day in Chicago. Here's to organized labor all around this fine Country.

Nooky--It only hurt for the first 10 years or so...

Viper--I don't have a tally but I probably burnt all of it on trips to the Chief Pilot's office. ;) TC

Yup, Big D is my nick-name....

My resusme is a disaster anyway...19 flying jobs, no stability, no maturity, no nothing....Ya boys fly straigth and level...Shiny side up.

I am in a class right now about "Unions and Collective Bargaining." How much of this is propaganda and how much is accurate? Also, are there people who do not participate in the union i.e. don't pay dues? Also how much are dues per year, per pay period?

Well. about 2 or 3 % per year.

Not a big deal if yer union got ya a good contract.

When times are good, ya gladly pay.
When times arew bad, ya feel screwed.

Good luck.

Huh? My resume is up to date, although I'm hoping you don't know something about my job that I don't!

You're right. I guess I crossed my own picket line. SCAB! ;)

Anyway, now, I'm back on the job--guilt free. :D TC
