DOH is the fairest single standard for a reason- let's return sanity to the profession!!!
The only way sanity will ever return to this profession is:
1. Legacy pilot groups stop eating their young.
2. Regional pilot groups stop accepting substandard pay and workrules for growth (might have already been forced upon you by the economy)
3. Pilot groups who agree to binding arbitration live by their decisions rather than cry, then "take their football and go home".
4. ALPA National stop signing sub-par contracts signed by its' member carriers, which goes hand in hand with NOT calling off a strike until the vote is taken and counted.
5. All pilot groups re-visit the term "brand scope".
The list goes on, but I still point you to point #3.

Air Tran and Southwest pilots have yet to agree to BINDING arbitration.

Binding.. Ha! The legal term you are fishing for is INTERNAL as published by the 9th circuit.

ALPA peddled the idea of "binding" and like most everything else, they couldn't deliver the goods. :D I miss ALPA so much. Rez used to be my friend.

If USAirways is, was, such a lost cause, WHY IS IT STILL AROUND??
Ever asked yourself this question, genius!!

Three words; Inertia, Kinetic and Potential energy. They apply as much to physics as they do to large businesses.

It takes a long time to expend them. Unfortunate for the employees.

A wise man once told me that the sole purpose for running LARGE airlines was to provide a money laundering opportunity for LARGE banks and investment firms....I believe him. Bob Crandal once stated that in the airline business, one has to invest $1000 in order to make 1 cent.
If the return on this investment is so minuscule, then why are BANKS financing these ventures??
Easy answer, large sums of money flow through the machine on a daily basis. It is very easy to shift, hide, re-direct, appropriate, etc, this money.
Its like the government.
You take a company like American, operating revenues approx. 15 billion annually. That is greater than the economies of most 3rd world countries. Were does the money go???

If they can't negotiate something we all know Federal Law mandates Binding Arbitration. All seniority integrations will turn upon their own facts. There is no way of knowing what an Arbitrator will do. Airtran is a healthy company that obviously brings value to SWA. Given DAL/NWA and AMW/AAA it's reasonable to assume some kind of integrated method.

SWA FO's aren't entitled forever to have the same career trajectory that FO's did there 15 years ago. There is no such thing as unlimited growth.

One this is crystal clear. SWA pilots will NOT be in charge of this thing. They're along for the ride like everybody else.

Beckett - so do I understand you correctly then - "SWA (AWA) FO's aren't entitled forever to have the same career trajectory that (AWA) FO's did there 15 years ago. There is no such thing as unlimited growth?

Yeah OK bob....... Corporate credit cards, spending accounts, housing/transportation allowances, golfing trips to St. Andrews, etc... I see. Thanks for enlightening me.............

Welcome B-atch. Becket is a former Metrojet pilot that is now furloughed West. He can not cash in his lottery ticket, which would place this sorry azz 2005 furloughed West pilot about 700 numbers up the East list. I know who he is, but rules on here do not allow me to elaborate.

Doosh:
How many times have we been through this.
You don't work for Airways, never have, never will. You are a gulfstream academy washout. Your man love st. nic does though.
I know things must be tough with your man living on that stellar 190 f/o pay after 19 years, but starting a thread won't get him to the left seat any faster, than say, another 19 years!
That is, if LCC even survives..............
