I remember my first flight on a United 727. I think that was the first time I realized I wanted to fly for a living. A couple of years later I was fortunate enough to get a tour of the cockpit on an Eastern 727. Good times!

Anyone on the board ever fly the 72s for anyone?

Umm yeah...I have about 3500 hrs in the old gal. My last flight in the 727 is in about 2 weeks and I am moving on to the 747.

Never flew a 727, but the first airline flight I remember being on was on a Delta 727 from SLC to MCO back in 1990. I think that was what cemented my desire to fly for a living (I was 12.)

There's something about the blue exhaust flames on takeoff- beautiful!

In my mind, they are not even the same company anymore. I mean, really, what company(ies) basically tells thier retired employees of many decades "Thanks, now bend over, I need to steal your money so I can get a bonus." Jeeesh.......

Just once, I would love to see the top brass take a pay cut. I know financially it would not make a huge differnece, but psycologically (sp?) that would be a great boon for the grunts on the line.

What ever happened to the Lee Iacoca mentality of business management?
