I'm down stairs in the business center, using their computer because mine has freaked out again. I turned it on and it wants me to click a username to begin. The problem is that there isn't any usernames to click on. I've tried to get into safe mode but it still wants me to click a username. Any help would be appreciated.

maybe...

Hi falcondriver,

who knows what the problem is, all we can do is try diff things to see if it works...I found this:

'!!!!!!!
First off, boot your computer from your Windows XP restore cd/OS cd, when the menu comes up hit the R key to get to the recovery prompt.

The prompt should start off at C:\Windows. Type cd system32. The prompt should now read C:\Windows\system32

Type: copy userinit.exe wsaupdater.exe

Reboot

Remember to enter your BIOS screen [F2] on boot-up and change your boot priority to the CD and have your XP CD inserted. Then hit the [R] for the restore page.

I found that info here: http://www.ntcompatible.com/thread27472-1.html
