Objective
  • Responsible for safe, economical, consistent and legal operation of Company aircraft.
  • Required to maintain compliance with all applicable federal regulations as well as Compass Airlines policies, standards and procedures.
  • Expected to present a professional image at all times as a key representative of the Company to both external customers and internal employees.
Qualifications
To initially qualify for a pilot position, the applicant must meet several qualifications, including:
  • Minimum flight time of 1500 Total Time/1000 hours of multi-engine time.
  • A valid first class medical Certificate obtained within the six months prior to application.
  • An FCC restricted Radio Telephone Operator permit.
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Surrender any seniority held with an air carrier other than Northwest Airlines, Inc.
  • Minimum education of a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Travel in and out all locations served by Compass Airlines without restriction.
  • Work varying hours, days, nights, holidays, weekends and extended hours away from home.
  • Work on an on-call basis with little notice.
  • Relocate to assigned domicile.
  • Tolerate a work environment that is subject to changing climates and locales, variable hours, and conditions that include but are not limited to dry air, aircraft and airport noise levels, dim lighting, confined spaces and contact with the public.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively in English, whether in writing or verbally.
  • Read and comprehend verbal and written instructions and procedures.
  • Comfortable and effective with public speaking and addressing large groups of people.
  • Effective interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills.
  • Highly approachable demeanor.
  • Basic computer literacy skills.
  • Successful passing of a mandatory pre-employment drug screen, medical review and background check.
  • Successful completion of criminal history and PRIA records check.
  • Valid passport.

Anyone know if that is a legal condition of employment? Seems a bit off.


Why wouldn't it be?

So as long as it isn't discriminating against your race, religion, sex, creed, things like that, it's fair game.

After 9/11, there were many airlines that asked a furloughed legacy pilot to relinquish their seniority if they wanted to come on board.
