Just shows that it doesn't pay to give into a few, when in fact the majority wanted the view and read the thread. It kinda reminds me of what is happening to this great country, we give in to a few and just like that, no Bible in the schools, no prayer in the schools, no witnessing in the workplace, it is all bs. This should be a country when and where all can express their views. It is just when you know the truth and the fact is that all that don't believe will be seperated from God for forever you tend to be passionate about it.

I would say Timebuilder let it rip, I assume you wouldn't delete your own thread after a couple of hours of work on it.:D

Yeah but...you wouldn't go to a Star Trek convention to talk about NASCAR. This is an aviation forum...
General:
General aviation related discussion that doesn't fall into a sub-category below...
(Underline added.)

If you were a redneck you would. I swear, there isn't a day that goes by when one of the 'necks I work with doesn't talk about NASCARs.

I think that would be called the New Ebonics version.:D

Anyways about the whole General Forum topics.

As I already said I believe any general topic goes (aviation or non-aviation.) It's not like we are running out of space and can only post a limited number of threads. If that were the case then maybe I would admit on an aviation general forum it should be general aviation (no pun intended) talk. But that is not the case. I look at this part of the board as like walking into an FBO and just talking with others about stuff that is general (aviation wise or not) Just my humble opinion though.

"aviation related"

1Thes 4:16-17: (16) “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. (17) Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.” (NKJ)

:D :D

AMEN. I just got word that a good friend of mine a soccer star just dropped dead of a heart attack at 44.(a believer)Another son of a friend just was killed in a car accident at 20. You never know.....ARE YOU READY???I am.

Sheesh! Sorry to hear about your friends. It just reminds me that we never know what a day will bring.

Some of my close calls in life have been driving to and from the airport. Once there was a doublewide trailer house getting towed down the highway. The problem was that it was actually at a complete stop, blocking traffic. Thankfully I swerved early enough to miss it.

Another time I learned my lesson about using a cell phone on the road. I was sitting at a red light waiting to turn left on to a 4 lane highway. Well for reasons unknown to me, as soon as I clicked my phone shut I was thinking that the light was green and so I just hit the gas and went into the middle of the intersection. But the light was still red and as a I came to a stop in the intersection a semi went blowing by right behind me at about 60 mph. Seconds earlier and I would have been toast.

Anyhoo, no more driving and using phone for me!!!

My sincere condolnences.

However, I am not "ready" in the sense of being "saved". I just don't recognize that need.

From Flybuddy:
"For the scientist who has lived by his faith in the power of reason, the story ends like a bad dream. He has scaled the mountains of ignorance: He is about to conquer the highest peak: As he pulls himself over the final rock, he is greeted by a band of theologians who have been sitting there for centuries." -Robert Jastrow "God and the Astronomers"

Are these the same theologians that excommunicated Galileo? Or are these the ones who insisted that Copernicus and Kepler were wrong because there was no way that the Earth could not be at the center of the universe?

Just curious....

The important part is this: by the time you recognize the need, if you have not already ben saved, it is too late to change your mind.

It's like insurance. You have to buy it BEFORE the wreck.

Those were Catholics, not "Christians".

I recognize the risk of a car wreck. I don't recognize the risk of not being a Christian.

Incidently, I was raised by in a christian family. I did my time in Sunday school and church. I read the bible and know the stories and verses. I just stoppped believing - for no reason in particular save that it became tough to tell the difference between christianity and greek mythology or fairly tales.

Oh on the contrary my good man. These folks would have INSISTED that they were Christians, quite as strongly as you do today.

Sorry, maybe I should find some other sub group of Christians to refer to. How about the ones who believed so strongly that there were real witches that they executed a couple of hundred people in colonial America?

Oh, wait a minute, those were "Puritans".... not "Christians"....

And even THEY would have insisted that they were Christians every bit as strongly as you do today....

Timebuilder, your distinction is specious and not worthy of you.

Catholics are Christians according to these definitions...

Chris·tian
n.
1. One who professes belief in Jesus as Christ or follows the religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus.
2. One who lives according to the teachings of Jesus.

cath·o·lic
adj.
1. Of or involving the Roman Catholic Church.
2. Of or relating to the universal Christian church.
3. Of or relating to the ancient undivided Christian church.
4. Of or relating to those churches that have claimed to be representatives of the ancient undivided church.

Catholic
n.
1. A member of a Catholic church, especially a Roman Catholic.

To reiterate what I posted before:

People are free to call themselves whatever they want, even if they are puritans or Catholics. It does not make them Christians, no matter how vehemently they protest. Only the teachings of the Bible is the determinant of who is and who is not following Christ and His way, since He was so incredibly plain about what that way includes.

You can say specious, but if the Bible does not agree with these sects, then they are not a part of the Body of Christ.

Plain and simple.
