Darn it! If the plane had been airborne then the pilot could have saved the day by peeing in the hydraulic reservoir.

Sorry. I just couldn't pass that dead horse without taking a good whack at it:) .
 
Skydrol is nasty, nasty stuff! I wouldn't want to have the stuff on me, let alone breathe a mist of it.

Does the Avro have escape slides, or is that just typical media bullsh*t?

Yes, they do have slides.
 
A good lungful of skydrol mist is very, very unpleasant.

I hope somebody warned the passengers to wash their hands extra-thoroughly before taking a leak. Burns!!
