Has anyone been into Dar es Salaam lately?

I was thinking of trying the Royal Palm Hotel. Should be the "Hot Spot" for New Years this year.
 
Yea but I picked the Inter-Continental in Nairobi a few years back and the gunfire on the streets kept us up at night.
