HPN Troubles

Had a great night trying to get into HPN tonight. Shooting the ILS 16 and the GS goes out with a Ceiling hovering around 200 ft. Go missed, then go back and hold at the marker. Then we decide to try the ILS 34. Half way there it goes below minimums. Divert to TEB.

I thought that this crap only happened in the sim!!!! I only hope that tomorrow is a better day!

Nice, shoulda gone to good'ol TEB in the first place-you'll always get in (the VOR-A is unstoppable!)...only whimpy corp departments go to HPN

that has been a reported problem for some time, they don't know why and pilots complain all the time. It has happened several times to friends who were based there but to date I have not had the issue.

First time that we have ever had a problem. We try to avoid TEB at all costs. Sitting on the ground for 4 hours waiting to leave is just crazy!!

HPN can be challenging. A 500' ceiling at nearby LGA or TEB will pretty much shut down HPN with its field elevation of 439' MSL.
