Just curious how it was going as far as starting up a new fleet type so quickly. I don't see how they could have bid and won the CO flying with the added expense of a new aircraft. Not only that, they are going to have to have over 20 crj's up and running in under 7 months! I'm sure it will work out for them in the end, but it's gonna be fun watching in the the begining.

We're hearing a lot of rumors from CAL people here at XJT that the CRJ program isn't going as well as CHQ would like so far. That's probably just wishful thinking for us at XJT and it will probably all come together just fine. You know how rumors go. Meanwhile, we're still growing, hiring, upgrading, etc...and aparantly there will be some announcement during the investors earnings call on the 8th. We'll see.

1st crj is on property and painted, 1st batch of captains having checkrides this week, 1st batch of Fo's has been in training for weeks....only about a week behind

Superpilot, love your avatar. When I was teaching, it seemed like I always got stuck with old, hairy, fat and smelly dude.

Hey superpilot, just curious, and I think I know the answer, but do you know that chick checkin the oil in the piper? I see all these dudes with hot chicks in their avitars, and sometimes I think, do these dudes know these chicks, have they banged them, or do they just find nice pictures and put them up there? That would create quite the scene to have your girl strip down to a bikini and check the oil on the ramp while students are preflighting, but then again, ive seen crazier things.

Every day I work for my regional it just strengthens my resolve to not make it my final career choice.

These idiots are Comairs GOJETS. They really, really got a bad case of shiny new jet syndrome and voted in a contract with the expressed intention of under cutting us after we won our contract with an 89 day strike.

I consider these guys scab-minus-one. Not quite, but real close.
What a bunch of fools. All my FO'S want to shoot them the finger every time we pass them in CVG. Ok, ok, me too, but we refrain.

Grow up.

This guy deserves whatever he gets!

Is a scab minus one better or worse than a regular scab?

I have been on this board for a few months now, and I have not posted anything until now.

I am sick and tired of the bitching and moaning of everyone. First of all, most of the folks at RAH weren't even with the company with the last contract was signed. I am here because I never got a call from XJT. I am from Houston, so that was my first choice, but I guess my 3000 hours, 1400 of 121 turbine, was underqualified for them. OK, here are my two points:

1. You guys who complain about the regionals need to remember that none of us grew up hoping and praying that one day, we could work for $100,000 or less at a regional for the rest of our lives. We grew up with the dream of working at a major. I understand that the industry has changed, but the jobs are still out there and all the majors will be hiring again within a few years. Remember, a regional is still a stepping stone no matter how big the jet you fly is. Get your time and move on.

2. Do you think the guys at HP complain when Dell starts selling more computers and people at HP get laid off or downsized? What about Toyota selling more cars than GM or Ford? ALL REGIONALS SUCK. PLAIN AND SIMPLE. Whenever the company you work for does not have control of it's own destiny because it is a vendor for a major, then you do not have job security. That is the main reason to get to a major, no matter how good or bad your current contract is. All of you guys crying like little babies, "our contract is better", or "they are taking our flying", is like two homeless guys arguing over a who's cardboard box is better. At the end of the day, you still live in a cardboard box. I feel bad for the XJT guys and the Comair guys about losing flying. It sucks, but it happens in every industry.

I have an idea. Instead of bitching at each other, why don't we use this forum to come up with some good ideas on how to improve the industry. We all took the jobs where we are at for various reasons, and we are stuck here until we move on.

funny, didn't you guys vote for concessions for more 70 seat growth? how's that going for you? awesome way to hold the line btw.

Who crossed a picket line? Do you know the definition of SCAB? No one even knows if this is replacing anything your company lost. From my understanding RAH is reducing 2 of its bases and opening this base.

CHQ has been a DCI carrier for 4 years now. Get used to it.

T-Hawk

P.S. While you guys contemplate maybe giving us the finger, every single ops/ramp/gate employee you have is begging us to come back soon.

Do you guys honestly think that CHQ would botch bringing on another type? How many types have they brought on in recent history? This isn't our first rodeo! All the check airmen are experienced captains already - some guys from Independence are supposedly helping out with the new type.
You guys all need to cry to Delta and CO mainline guys about this, I'm sure they'd love to commiserate and talk about how they like you guys better - NOT!
They don't care!
They only regret not capturing the flying years ago! But heaven forbid that they create a B-scale!
