Hi all. I would like some input from everyone here on this web site I am working on with some friends. It is called www.WikiAir.com and I think it can really become a handy resource for all of us 'frequent fliers'.

The goal of it is to use Wikipedia type software to create a resource for pilots on layovers. (ie, good places to eat, drink, etc.) Basically what to do in a city when you only have 20 hours or so. I know a lot of guys keep little notes about what to do in different cities, and if we all shared them it would be pretty cool.

Also it can be a resource for frequent flier programs, layover hotels and their amenities, airlines, etc. The possibilities are endless.

So, please check out the site, add anything you want to, and leave some feedback here (or on the site under the discussion tab at the top) on how we might improve it.

Thanks!

Great idea!

I love the wiki concept.

I'll try to contribute something.

Good luck.

sweet idea, i hope it takes off. it would be cool if you could just put the airport id in the search field.

General,

You can actually do that. It is pretty simple, using a redirect.

For example, type KMIA in the search bar. It will tell you that page doesn't exist and ask you if you would like to create that page. Then, once you create the page, type this:

#REDIRECT [[Miami International Airport]]

That's it! I just did it for KMIA so you can check it out.

Seattle Public Library--Aviation Room

The new Seattle Public Library is downtown and easily accessible. There is a room dedicated to aviation. Enjoy!
