I've been struggling with getting my PTT switch to work since I started flying this aircraft (BE23). The aircraft has 1 built-in headset mic/phone jacks, and there is a 4-place intercom NOT plugged into the built-in jacks (I guess it's wired in from the back somewhere...*blank look*). The PTT switch is one of those old jobs with a mic plug on one end, which splits into a mic jack and a pushbutton switch, which is velcored onto the yoke, or wherever you want it.

I've tried using it with the aircraft jacks, and it works fine, but then I'm not plugged into the intercom.

(Note: the intercom has a 'Xmit Switch' plug on it.)

Any ideas how I should be hooking this thing up so that: PTT activates trasmissions using the headset mic, and mic and phone pick up and talk on the intercom?

thanks........I'm sick of using the handheld mic........

Have you tried plugging the mic switch into the Xmit switch on the intercom, and the headset into the intercom jacks?

All the switch does is ground the tip.

If it doesn't work there, then I would try plugging the mic switch into the intercom and then the headset into the mic switch's jack.
