If I get some WIA money and a letter from a prospective employer, do I just call up Flight Safety and tell them I want a type?

Any info about the process would be appreciated.TC

AA, you are correct. Decided which learning center you wish to attend, talk to scheduling and go for it. They'll have the information for you regarding payment. They may or may not refer you to your regional sales person. I believe you can go on FSI's website and find out who that is, or look in their current training schedule book (found at any FSI).

Best of luck.

Simuflite is also WIA approved and usually less expensive than FSI, meaning less $ out of your pocket if the WIA$ does not cover the entire type.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the help.TC

My experience.

I was approved for WIA and following opinions from here I tried to get Simuflight approved being as they were supposed to be cheaper. They said it would take 8-10 weeks to get the paperwork done. When the timeframe was up I called to check and the state told me that Simuflight didn't completely fill out the forms and checked no for providing special needs (handicap). So much for using Simuflight. In the mean time someone else had gotten Flight Safety approved and when I called they were $400 less on the C-90 then Simuflight! So I went that route.

I was refered thru several people to find out FS has one lady in NY does all the WIA paperwork for every state. If you need a name & number send me a PM. I was told it would take about a month to get the A/C specific course paperwork done with FS.

All in all I have not been impressed with the state people. From my experience they haven't seamed to care at all. I hope your people are better, but if not just bug them all the time so they will want to get you done and out of their hair!

Good luck,

Giego
