Intel had (not sure about the current status) corporate shuttles running ERJ and 1900 aircraft out of SJC and several other western locations. My understanding is that these aircraft & crews were of EJM origin. Anyone else care to add to this?
As far as I know, EJM is still running around for Intel. I still get ads for Pilots/FA for the HIO bases, and that other one that is forgetting my memory...
Ok, heres my $.02 worth. I had an Intel Captain in my EMB-135 recurrent class last March at FSI HOU. Nice guy and good info. I asked him the typical "Who do you work for" questions....
He stated that Intel owns all their "135's" but that EJM "Manages" all the flight crews on EJMs 135 certificate. All pilots are paid by EJM and thus are NOT industry standard for a Corporate operation giant like Intel. It sounded to me that Intel did not want to bother with employee overhead and thus took the "aircraft managment" road with EJM. Which is to say not bad, but not great. All EMB-135 shuttle applicants to Intel/EJM will begin as FO's regardless of previous EMB-135 time in type- based off of senority like everything else. First year Captain pay for the EMB-135 I was told is $60K, with overtime and raises available. Remember that Intel is paying EJM and EJM dishes out the paychecks. You are an employee of EJM not Intel I beleive. At the time I was the Director of Training and a Captain on the Legacy for another company and I was told if I was interested in Intel I would start as an FO for about $34-36K. Just FYI.
