If my balcony was big enough for a decent sized grill I'd go with charcoal. But it isn't, so I'm stuck with a smaller gas grill. The city I used to live in had an ordnance prohibiting grills on apartment balconies, so I hid it behind a pillar so nobody could see it if they drove by.

This board is getting savy in its old age. We're well into the second page and nobody's taken the bait yet.

I use a gas grill and some mequite woodchips to give it a little flavor. I was told to soak the chips in water and that will extend their life, otherwise they tend to burn up rather fast.

Gotta go propane gas. Doesn't smell good like briquettes but in today's madcapped world who has time to deal with that?

My BBQ has 50,000 BTUs. Sunday night I cooked a steak the size of a Buick inside of 10 minutes. Pretty sweet grill.
