How many more Comair pilots will be furloughed now because of the Freedom/Mesa move to CVG?
It's safe to say that DCI will not be operating more flights out of CVG starting in May. So for every aircraft, crew and flight hour that Mesa drags into CVG come May will result in the equivalent loss of Comair flying.
So the question will be ... will DAL back fill JFK with Comair (displacing numerous crews and aircraft from CVG to JFK), or will they take the opportunity to cut more regional lift out of the fleet and put more Comair pilots on the furlough list? I think it will be some combination of both. Either way, Mesa moving it's wagon train to CVG will cost Comair more pilot jobs.
Once again, while it have have been DAL's decision, Mesa sticks it to the flying world.
By the way ... Mesa sucks!
