So I'm just about done with my CFI and I'm about to loose my 5th flight instructor to the airlines. I have been flying for just over two years now and was wondering how many flight instructors you all went through during your training. I will be on my sixth and it's beginning to get frustrating!!!

8 thru multi and cfii. but i had a new one each semester in school, 2 for my initial cfi. goodluck finishing up!

As pathetic as it sounds the regionals still pay more than instructing. Until that changes, flight instructing will be a revolving door profession

Also, you can endure only so many stalls and turns around a point

Five through CFI. I flew with whoever was available for CFII, and had one sign me off. Did the same for MEI, but don't even remember who signed me off (I'm a few drinks in though, I might remember tomorrow).

3 private

4 instrument

2 commercial

3 CFI

2 CFII

2 ME

2 MEI

1 instructor for Pvt and Inst.

1 instructor for Comm Multi and CFI

Did CFII and MEI with a buddy.

The only reason why i had only two was because i started training in sept of 2001 a couple of days b4 911 and intructors where stuck instructing for a while because there were no jobs.

2 Private
2 Instrument
1 Commercial
1 AMEL
1 Glider
1 ASES
1 ATP
4 135

YIKES!

Lots of turnover.

I had two instructors.

Both really great guys! (one of them is reading this....) :)

you lie!! there's no way. you've had 18 different instructors?!?

Private - 2
Instrument - 2 (one overlap from private)
Commercial and now start of CFI - 1

1 for pirvate thru com (sel)

1 for com (mel)

2 for CFI

1 for CFII and MEI

1 for com (ses)

1 for ATP/C500

Just heard my original cfi just finally made Saab captain at XJ, CONGRATS! (about time DV)

1 for Private
1 for Instrument
1 for Multi / Commercial (SEL, MEL)
1 for MEI
1 for CFI / CFII

So did all of you loose them to airline/corp/etc. jobs? Or was it because of other circumstances? My first instructor is at SkyWest, second is with Ameriflight, third Horizon, Fourth is doing Air Ambulance, Fifth has an interview with Horizon on the 22nd and is pretty much getting the job because she is a UND grad and is a female........

And because she's a competent pilot right?
Edited original comment - I'll leave it to everyone's imagination what was placed here.

Continue on, nothing to see here...

I made twice as much instructing as anyone I know on first year regional pay.

I had 3 instructors. 1 was awesome, 1 was good, and 1 sucked. They're all capt's at Skywest now.:)
