who flys for the "mojors"? Austin Powers? I hope we get are mojo back.

This one time in the van ride.............

W
Ha, you caught me.

I believe the 700's are to replace 200's as per the United contract and this is in J.O.'s best interest since it will free up 200's for china and he gets a fat brokerage fee on each one he sends over.

Oh man, I read that and thought you wrote each one HE BENDS OVER....

My mistake!

JO & Mesa already in default of the UAUA contract. These "new" airplanes should have been online already as per the UAUA contract to replace aging 200's and go to an all-700 operation.

Too little too late. I wouldn't piss on Mesa now as the flames look nice and bright from where I am standing.

I don't think United/Mesa relationship is going anywhere south soon.

Mesa just ordered 10 new CRJ700 NextGen to operate for United Airlines.

Bombardier wins $334-million jet order from Mesa Air

Two thoughts:

1. The majors are continuing to shed all flying below 150 seats. That is their goal--because somewhere, someone, will do it for $18 an hour sleeping on plywood in the plane. Senior pilots will continue to give up scope in exchange for relaxation of productivity rules and $/hr. They will rationalize this by saying that they need to make up for their lost pension. Sorry guys, but this has been coming since CMR got the first CRJ. That was the beginning of the end for our profession's security.

2. United knew what they were getting when they got in bed with Mesa. Anyone here old enough to remember 9 years ago when they "broke up" last time? And really, what are their options? Who else is there? There may be plenty of RJs in the US but there still aren't enough pilots to keep them all flying.

Most of us agree, Mesa cannot fail fast enough.

What a wonderful Christmas present it would be if Mesa were to cease operations before the new year.

Got my fingers crossed................................

Problem is everyone, SkyWest included is having problems, so there is no obvious successor.

I'm in no way defending Mesa or JO here but...at what point does UAL have to look at things and say "Hmmm, if EVERYONE is having problems, then maybe there's something wrong with what we are asking of our regional carriers..."?

Is it possible for AWAC to purchase Mesa? Boiler?

I don't think the owners would be happy with the return on investment unless they could renegotiate the contracts that are already in place. The owners could probably make more with their money in a savings account. I think AWAC would be better off waiting for the Mesa's contracts to expire and bid for them at that point. Just my .02 cents.

Possible? Sure is. Likely? About as likely as you becoming a lifer E-195 captain for "Mockery" ;)

Our management is salivating, biding their time until UEX contracts start to come up...because its likely our only chance to diversify outside of Airways Express after losing the Midwest RFP to Skywest.
