I emailed my resume and cover letter to NetJets on 4 April and I still haven't gotten an app and I was wondering if this is unusual.

I've got a couple of friends at NJA who've tried to push things along by calling Derinda. She has told both of them that she is aware of my resume, but the decision on whether to send one of these precious apps out apparently resides with someone named "Jerry," who has been out of the office each time my friends have called (or, at least, that's what Derinda has indicated).

I should add that I live in Dallas, and in my cover letter I identified myself as "a Dallas based corporate pilot."

I was wondering if this automatically pushes me onto the back burner, given this base-specific hiring pattern they seem to be in.

I started this same thread a week ago.

I sent mine out the generic HR email on the 2nd of march and one to Derinda a couple weeks later. Got my app last week and am gonna overnight it back to them tomorrow.

So it took over a month to get the resume to me.

That was with a couple people helping me out on the inside.

You might try a search...theres been a couple threads tracking the app time.

The whole app time from emailing resume to actually receiving the app seems to vary. I got mine in like 9 days, other guys like 3 months sometimes. I think its just luck of the draw. Maybe you caught them on a vacation week or someone out of the office. Don't read too much into it. I specified TEB as my base in my cover letter. So, I don't think that's got a ton to do with it.

Go Red Wings!

It took me 1.5 months after sending in the resume to get my app. That was with the help of a friend who is an assistant chief pilot and apparently knows Derinda well. Here's hoping for an interview.

I was looking over the forum last night wondering why nobody had responded and I saw your thread. It would probably be a good idea if I look before I leap from now on.

Good to hear it's not just me. I'm kind of bummed about the delay, though. I was thinking about moving over to NJA 2.5 years ago, before the contract, and I swear I had an app in my hands within the week, then got a call for an interview the following week.

Alas, I declined the interview (kicking myself for it now but, oh well).

I wonder if sending NJA flight ops a stack of pepperoni pizzas with my name spelled out in the pepperoni would help ... like that guy a couple years ago who hired a plane to orbit SWA's Dallas headquarters, pulling a banner with his name and phone number on it.

Gotta love this business.

I originally sent my resume in last July, then Oct, and again in Jan. Two weeks later I received the app in the mail. They received it 4 Feb, interview email first week of March, interview 4 April, "Congrats" email 2 weeks later, waiting hourly for the indoc date call...I put LAX as my first pick which might have something to do with the quick turn around from app to interview, however, during the interview nothing was mentioned about it...

Took me about 2.5 weeks to get the app. I live in CMH so I'm not sure if that helped speed things up or not. Sent the app in about two weeks ago and am now just waiting for confirmation that they received it. Anyone know how long it usually takes for them to notify you they receieved the app? They should have had it for at least a week now.

Just received an e-mail stating my app was accepted. So far the process has taken about 5-6 weeks from sending my resume to getting to this point. Just have to wait for the interview now. Have CMH and PBI listed for domiciles.
