How long is too long do you think for an airline that you have a potential job with to do a "background/credit" check on you?
I have a company doing one on me right now that's been a week already, and still no word as to the status or when it would be complete! What have been your experiences?

I just went through one recently. Timelines will vary greatly from company to company depending upon how badly they need the position filled, etc.

Had the interview.
Informed of successful interview and a notification of background check 10 days later.
A little more than a week after that I was contacted to go get a drug screen. Two weeks later received an official offer.

It just depends. The company that I work for now has a company that does it for them, and they are slow, but do a real good job. It depends on a bunch of factors. Keep your panties on :)
