Aboot 8 weeks for the Boeing . . . . give or take a week. You'll have a block of a few days (I think 6) off in the middle to travel home in the middle of training.

Don't know about offsite training, but I would guess it is a pretty good possibility with the amount of training due in the next nine months. I think they give out offsite training by preference sheet and seniority. Since I lived in MEM, I stayed home for training, but the commuters wanted the per diem. . .

"You'll have a block of a few days (I think 6) off in the middle to travel home in the middle of training." You had 6 days off? You must of been one of the lucky ones. Our training never gave us off more than 2 days. Maybe it was because we were the class clowns!

Know Thy Contract!

Section 11 (Training) states that newhires WILL receive 7 days off after completion of IOE. You can waive it, but I wouldn't. You've definately earned it!

6 days off in the middle of training does not apply to new hires, just subsequent training. However, when I went through training, the new hires who selected the DC-10 panel did get 6 days off mid-training, since the program was basically structured for folks who had been around awhile. The 7 days off after IOE applies to new hires only.
