show me a regional that pays a liveable wage for F/O, what don't everyone on this board tell me what our contract says, i guess i do not know since everyone else seems to be the experts. i am being held responsible for your pay cuts , dream on thank YOUR mgmnt. As for wanting a job i don't have to , i already have one thx.

My roommate (a CFI) lives with a Mesa CRJ captain and 1900 captain. They are ROOMMATES. He told me the 1900 captain grossed $25k last year...

You have to admit Mesa is one of the lowest paying companies out there. BUT, all industries have their low-ballers - Wal-Mart is a good example. I don't know why people blame all their woes on one particular carrier. ***Disclaimer: I do not work for Mesa Airlines or MAG***

How's that saying go? If you can't beat 'em, join 'em?

I used to fly for Mesa and this is how it is:
First, you join em'. Then you keep your head low, get a domicile in Wyoming, and no one knows your name until you quit for a bigger and better job 6 years later.
Then, you beat em'.

I take it all back........I now realize I was wrong and that Mesa actually rocks and I was a fool for not going there in the begining. Good look impressing the boys on the Major Board with that "real airline/whale" talk......I'm sure they'll look highly upon you as you now fly that for the one of the lowest whale wages in the industry. Dam.n your on a roll son!!! AD

This wouldn't happen to be for an ex-EAL scab outfit would it?????

Elvis77. I didn't say it doesn't suck you Jacka&s, i feel fortunate to have a JOB and a job flying a jet in the left seat of which seat you are not in. YES I ADMIT MESA SUCKS ! better than no job at all.

Actually another career would be a way better option than working for Mesa. You could be home every night and find a much better career. Mesa is not and never will be a career airline with that attitude.

good grief

geez guys,
whats with all the mesa crap. Mesa fo's make more than PSA and pinnacle fo's. Sucks but it's true.

Is mesa paying to play like chq or air wisconsin? no
Some mesa pilots may be furloughed because of this.
So whos holding up your fu#king bar now?

Gonna bash the mesa folks for working for jo?
Hop your asz over to the majors board and start talking that crap. The continental, eastern and airtran boys will rip you a new one. Heard of Lorenzo perhaps?

"Fltlvls, for being immune to things, you seem to be letting these comments bother you. How is making only block every flight? Oh, and the 1.10 per diem? I thought our contract was bad, but at least you don't have freedom anymore"

I make block every flight. Our flights are blocked for a lot more than what we usually fly. So i make more than what i actually fly every flight. Per diem 1.10 per hour? Thats not true either.

My question is where is this coming from? Air wisconsin has to match mesa for the usair flying. They will. Also, I haven't heard any announcements about mesa taking airwisconsin's flying for united. Skywest and TSA's alter-ego "Go-Jet" got the award. Who knows where the rest of it goes. I doubt it will be mesa. And it pisses me off that united dropped airwisconsin, those guys are extremely nice, even your instructors. And since that just made me think of professional standards.
Hands down the most professional pilots I have witnessed are the ACA guys/gals. By far.

Elvis77 did YOU check the wrong box and vote yourself a paycut? What? You did that twice?!

Beechnut. Ah that whole fu@k'n bag of doritos on your shoulder. Question for you. That dulles operation of yours....that wasn't perhaps cheaper than what ACA did in dulles was it? Of course not..cause if it was i'd say that's the pot calling the kettle black.

I work at the "division" and I have no idea what the whale is. So my question is, what is the Whale?

fly2002,

Seeing as you were gracious enough to compliment AWAC pilots as "extremely nice" I'll try to make a few points about your post in as much of a non-confrontational way as possible.

Firstly this "pay to play" cr*p is exactly that. We were offered a contract by Yonited that would have eventually put us out of business. They did it to us in '92, so we would have been extremely naive not to mention brain-dead to take it. So what choice did we have? We took our money and invested in a partner we not only think will allow us to be appreciated for a change but also allow us to have a better say about our future. We have 3 seats on the board at USAir because of this investment and if I am to agree with your rationale then all investors are "paying to play".

Second Mesa pilots may likely be furloughed by this situation and while I won’t deny that I don't have a lot of respect for Mesa as a company, pilots being furloughed and out of a job does none of us favors. It sucks, I know because I've been furloughed and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Thirdly, I can't believe that there is anyone stupid enough to claim that Mesa pilots are paid what they should be. To be honest I don't think any of us are but the fact remains that while MAG pilots are receiving the poor pay that they are, there is little hope that any of us will ever be able to increase our current wages.

I'm not quite sure why you're so sure we will. This is by far one of the most stubborn pilot groups that I have ever come across. We took concessions once based on the premise that we would add aircraft and affirm our contract with Yointed, neither materialised and now we are having to deal with a cluster- f##k of a situation.

Our Mgt could have come to us for concessions again in order to lower our bid for this RFP from Yonited and they didn't. It either wouldn't have made any difference or they knew it simply wasn't going to happen. Personally, I think it was probably a bit of both.

Beechnut, is pissed, in fact he's f#@king livid. Wouldn't you be? If he wants to vent let him. I'm not sure this is the best place to do it but I'm sure he's old enough to make his own decisions. This is an anonymous forum and one of the side effects is that people can say what they like. It's not as if he's "dropping the kids off" on your front lawn.

Also, if you want to delude yourself that the reason we took over the running of IAD form ACA was because we were cheaper than they were. Then by all means go ahead. The fact remains that when ACA left the UEX system it meant that there were 80 aircraft less. Nobody else, other than AWAC, had the aircraft already painted and ready to go to fill the void at such short notice. Now, unless I'm mistaken there wasn't a bidding process for this work. UAL asked if we could do it and we stupidly did. I'm sure the overall operation in IAD is cheaper; if you fly in there, you’ll know that the ramp is run by DGS and looks like the United Nations.

Kenny,

Your a class act bro. I think a lot of people are mad and everyone seems to have their own reasons why. This seems to be a pretty big shake-up on the regional level. Although i've only been at this for a few years now so what do i know? For me personally I was going to move to philly to fly under usairways. The travel benefits are much more nicer for my parents etc. But it doesn't seem like that is going to happen. Bummer. Honestly the weather is way too nice today on the east coast to even care about this crap. So i'm gonna go walk the pugs and grill out. Or perhaps I need to find a good BBQ joint up here. Don't get me started on the bbq, i love the carolinas.

Oh yeah...made the cover of alpa magazine this month. Kinda nice. And no i'm not the girl:-)

Thanks for your response kenny.

BeechNut ho.ly sh.it!!! I never would have guessed that was you behind that disgruntled crazy eyed avitar. Funk yeah...we'll have to round up the troops again and get into a little trouble this summer....get us both off this f.uckin thing. LATE!!! AD

Well a new hire at Piedmont makes around 25k his first year.

Heck, Billy- I have yet to credit less than 102 hours/mo since the silly dupe signed me off of SOE- 12/13 days off though. Easily gonna bust 32K* at the first pay level... if the dang place hangs together. Grrr.

*D'OH- that's counting the uncountable soft money.
