How good are those satelite radios in the air?

It is incredible to be able to pull up METARs and TAFs for airports by just moving a pointer around a screen. I'm happy with that feature of XM so far.

Very true. It's just so much better when you're listening to uninterrupted classic rock while you look for that METAR.

I have the XM MiFi portable unit. I throw the antenna up on the dash and plug it into the stero input on the intercom and it works great. No problem at all unless I am headed north or northwest. Got mine on Ebay last spring and it came with 4 months of free service and the activation fee was waived. It is also a little cheaper if you pay for one year at time instead of month to month.
